About Us
Marc is a Software Engineer. Beth Ann is a Research Analyst. We used to live in Washington, DC. Currently we’re traveling in South America and South Asia for eight months.

About the Blog
Our blog’s title (“Operation Wanderlust”) was inspired by Marc’s father who was not that excited, at first, about the trip. He is slowly warming to the idea. The idea of keeping a travel blog was suggested by Beth Ann’s uncle but mainly serves as a way for us to not bore our family and friends everytime we see them with the trip’s details.  We try to update it every few days depending on internet access.

About Operation Wanderlust
In September 2009 we departed for a six month wanderlust across parts of South America.  We later extended the trip by two months to visit South Asia.  Why eight months? Well, that is all we think we can responsibly afford.  Why South America? That’s easy, we have never been there and it’s (for the most part) relatively cheap.  Why South Asia? Same reasons as South America and we wanted to do an extended trek in the Himalaya region.

We have spent some time in parts of Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  By visiting one continent we had hoped to keep travel costs down.  Also, learning Spanish is an interest.
